7thSense Delta Media Server and ISAAC Integration: What it means, and why it matters

Earlier this year, we announced that the 7thSense Delta Media Server now integrates directly with ISAAC, the AV control platform from Smart Monkeys.

This integration may sound like a technical backend improvement, but in real terms, it significantly changes how operators and systems integrators manage and control complex media environments.

What are Delta Media Server and ISAAC?

  • Delta Media Server is the 7thSense high-performance media server platform, built for projects that demand frame-accurate playback of high quality uncompressed media. It powers some of the world’s most immersive and high-profile AV experiences.
  • ISAAC is a platform for centralised control, scheduling, monitoring, and automation of AV and media systems. Think of it as a kind of command centre for complex installations.

The integration:

The integration allows ISAAC to communicate natively with Delta Media Server. This means that operators can now control and monitor Delta systems directly within the ISAAC workspace without needing to switch between interfaces or load specific software.

  • Control playback of Delta shows from within ISAAC by using the Playables and/or Events that are published from Delta.
  • Monitor Delta server status and system health in real-time by using the Variables that are published from Delta.
  • Schedule building in ISAAC is supported by Delta to automate the building of Timelines.
  • Centralise system-wide monitoring and alerts. Delta now becomes part of the unified overview in ISAAC.

The integration offers:

1. Simplified Control

Before this integration, managing a Delta-based system meant using dedicated control tools for Delta alongside separate platforms for environmental or third-party control. Now, all of that is available in a single control interface. Fewer tools, fewer windows, and less friction for the operator.

2. Improved Monitoring and Reliability

ISAAC’s real-time monitoring capabilities now include Delta, giving operators early warnings if anything goes offline or starts behaving unexpectedly. This makes troubleshooting faster and reduces downtime, especially in live or unattended environments.

3. Streamlined Workflow for Complex Installations

For large venues, such as museums, theme parks, planetariums, or multi-zone exhibits, the integration creates a single point of visibility and control. This not only improves the efficiency of daily operation but also simplifies staff training and system onboarding.
