Calendar-Based Event Scheduler for AV System Operation

Control and execute pre-programmed complex AV installations, live events and daily system operations with ease – with no technical or programming know-how required.

Medialon Calendar is a web-based application that allows users of varying technical expertise to schedule highly technical audiovisual systems for daily operation and special events. A familiar calendar interface allows the event scheduling ]for non-technical users to schedule the audio-visual system for daily startup and shutdown as well as special events. Operations staff can now schedule daily operations from their desks instead of needing to call the audio-visual team to put the events into the system.

Key Features

  • Audio-visual specialists are not required to input the event details or be present for operation.
  • The Medialon show controller executes the events from Medialon Calendar automatically, right on time, every time.
  • Any member of venue staff can load, operate and control the daily schedule of events.
  • No additional programming needs to be added to Medialon show control projects to benefit from Medialon Calendar.
  • Eliminates the time required to build bespoke scheduling engines for each project.
  • Show control project files remain focussed on controlling devices, not bogged down with interfaces for editing schedules.
  • Simplifies the scheduling experience for non-technical users.
  • Flexible to suit a variety of scheduling needs.
  • Medialon Calendar handles all that backend automation  without needing to program anything in the show control project, making it faster to deploy projects and far easier to push project updates without the risk of losing already scheduled events.
  • Supported by the Medialon Showmaster range.
  • Sync: Drag and drop programming through Timeline tasks.
  • Accuracy: One hundredth of a second Timeline synchronisation accuracy with position tracking of controlled devices.
  • Timecode: Timeline tasks use a native synchronization rate of 100 frames per second, but this can be changed to 24, 25, 30, or 30 (drop frame) frame rates. Timelines can synchronise to time from any time variable in the system, including SMPTE Timecode, MIDI Timecode, time of day, or timecode returned from connected devices.
  • Cue Recording: Incoming DMX, Serial, MIDI, and network data streams can be recorded in real time and played back in Timeline tasks. This is particularly useful for lighting chases, animatronic figure motion profiles, or anything where the source data comes from analogue devices like sliders.
  • User Interfaces: Custom user interfaces are designed in Medialon Manager and published as web pages called WebPanels, accessible from any network connected device with a web browser. WebPanel user interfaces can include buttons, sliders, text displays, LED indicators, editable text fields, gauges, pictures, and static text.

Setup

  • To setup Medialon Calendar, download and install the latest version of Medialon Manager V7 and the Medialon Calendar application here.
  • In each Medialon show control project you wish to connect, add a Medialon Calendar device to the project, pointing the device to the network location where Medialon Calendar is installed.
  • Point a web browser to the network address of Medialon Calendar to set up a list of Macros (Tasks from Medialon projects that can be triggered from Medialon Calendar) and start populating the calendar with Events that trigger the Macros.
  • Add user passwords to restrict access to various levels (scheduling only, setting up new Macros, managing Users/passwords).
