7thSense is returning to IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 in London, showcasing the company’s latest media playback and show control technology and highlighting the team’s work across theme parks, visitor attractions and immersive entertainment.
Visitors can meet the 7thSense team on the Experience UK Pavilion, Stand S837, where 7thSense technology will also be in action throughout the show. An S-Series™ Media Server and Medialon show control will drive the Pavilion's displays, providing a live example of the company's compact media playback and control technology.
Dynamic Projection Mapping and Animatronics
A 7thSense media server powers content across two projectors, with positional information supplied directly by the animatronic control system to enable the projected content to respond accurately as the figure moves. Scalable Display Technologies is providing projection alignment and calibration technology for the demonstration, with CurtainUp providing creative technical direction, and ThemedMotion providing a custom control solution.
The collaborative concept explores how precisely mapped digital content can move beyond a conventional static surface to become part of a physical, moving experience.
P&P Projects and ThemedMotion brought the physical and animatronic side of the experience to the mix, combining themed entertainment expertise with custom-built character technology.
ThemedMotion added its custom control system, proprietary animation software and custom-built animatronic hardware, developed specifically to create expressive, programmable characters and dynamic motion.
Matt Barton, Chairperson and Co-Owner of 7thSense and President of the International Board of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), said:
“IAAPA is all about bringing different creative and technical disciplines together, and the P&P Projects demo is a great example of that. Combining animatronics and physical movement with media powered by 7thSense opens some really interesting creative possibilities.
“We're also pleased to be supporting Experience UK and powering the Pavilion's display throughout the show. Most importantly, we're looking forward to meeting designers, consultants, integrators and operators and hearing about the experiences they're working on next.”
Technology for ambitious attractions
IAAPA Expo Europe follows a busy year for 7thSense and its technology.
At Lotte World Adventure Busan, a 7thSense R-Series 10™ Media Server powers the projection-mapped Lori Castle experience, driving five projectors and high-resolution uncompressed content.
7thSense Medialon technology is also at the heart of the touring Formula 1 Exhibition, providing show control across its AV infrastructure, while two R-Series 10™ Media Servers, Delta Media Server™ and Medialon Show Control support the immersive visualisation suite at the James Hutton Institute in Aberdeen.
The James Hutton Institute project has also been shortlisted as a finalist in the AV Awards 2026, with the category winners set to be announced this November.
This year has also seen 7thSense expand its media server portfolio. The ultra-compact S-Series™ Media Server delivers uncompressed 8K or up to four 4K outputs from a tiny footprint – and currently stands as the world’s smallest 8K media server.
Together with Medialon show control and 7thSense's wider media and pixel processing technologies, the platforms provide designers and technology partners with scalable solutions for dark rides, projection mapping, nighttime spectaculars, interactive attractions and complex media environments.
Meet the 7thSense team at IAAPA Expo Europe, ExCeL London, 22–24 September 2026, on the Experience UK Pavilion, Stand S837.
