7thSense Releases Delta Media Server v2.8 Build 12, Featuring New Media Format and Seamless ISAAC Integration

7thSense has announced the release of Delta Media Server v2.8 Build 12, featuring integration with Smart Monkeys’ ISAAC platform and the introduction of a groundbreaking new media format. The update brings high bit-depth media support with transparency (alpha channel) information, enabling improved media playback quality and flexibility for large-scale AV applications.

Smart Monkeys - a leader in AV workflow platforms - has welcomed 7thSense as the newest partner in its ISAAC ecosystem. By integrating 7thSense’s Delta Media Server with ISAAC, the two companies offer a unified solution for streamlined AV control and media playback management. This partnership enhances flexibility, efficiency, and operational simplicity for entertainment and theme park industries.

Known for its high-performance media servers tailored for large-scale immersive installations, 7thSense now delivers even greater value through its integration of Delta Media Server with ISAAC. This partnership enables seamless, centralised AV control, boosting operational efficiency and ensuring high-quality media playback across complex environments.

ISAAC’s advanced management features coupled with 7thSense’s Delta Media Server offers streamlined solution that simplifies complex AV setups and ensures reliable, high-quality playback even in demanding conditions. Clients can now leverage ISAAC’s sophisticated workflow controls alongside 7thSense’s expertise in large-scale media playback.

In addition to the integration with ISAAC, Delta Media Server v2.8 Build 12 introduces a new, highly efficient uncompressed media format. The “12/10-bit 4:2:2+A” format offers high bit-depth image quality with transparency, using the same average bandwidth (32 bits-per-pixel) as the existing 8-bit 4:4:4+A format. It combines 12-bit luminance data, two 10-bit chrominance channels, and a 10-bit alpha channel—enabling more complex, layered media with greater efficiency and less bandwidth required from media drives.

“The new 12/10-bit 4:2:2+A format opens up exciting possibilities for high bit-depth, layered media while reducing media drive bandwidth usage,” said Jack Dowd, Senior Product Manager at 7thSense. “This allows us to deliver superior media quality, even when playing multiple layers of semi-transparent or alpha-masked media simultaneously.”
