7thSense Reveals ‘Project Lunarcy’ as World-First Projection Mapping onto Moon

After pushing the boundaries of immersive experiences with iconic theme park attractions and speciality performance venues, we have officially aimed higher. Much higher. Today, the company announced its latest technological breakthrough: projection mapping the Moon.

"We looked at building-sized projection mapping and LED displays and thought... it’s nice, but have you tried turning the Moon into an 800K pixel canvas?" said 7thSense CEO, Bryan Hinckley. "It was only a matter of time before someone asked the big question: what if the Moon had a professional pixel and media technology team that could handle it?"

This cosmic leap was made possible through a groundbreaking set of technologies developed by the 7thSense team, including:

  • Hyperspectral Photon Superblasters™
  • Astrocompression Lens Arrays™
  • Retrofitted Space-Grade GigaLumen Projectors
  • Drahtrasignal Satellite Uplink Synchronisation
  • Lunar Surface Reflectivity Enhancement Coating™ (thanks to a partnership with ‘extremely cooperative’ Lunar Dust, Inc.)

"Honestly, building-sized displays were just too small for what we had in mind," said Hinckley. "The Moon offered a more realistic display surface for interplanetary storytelling.”

The project, officially named as ‘Project Lunarcy’, involved deploying an orbiting fleet of synchronised projector and 7thSense media server-mounted satellites, each powered by caffeinated neutrinos and aligned using the ancient art of astral feng shui.

Future lunar content includes:

  • A remastered version of 2001: A Space Odyssey in full wraparound FullMoon-mode.
  • Sponsored content by cheese brands (pending talks with the Moon’s rightful dairy stakeholders).
  • A giant QR code that can be scanned from Earth using a decent phone and a telescope.

While tickets to the live Moon experience are sold out, fans can stream the event by simply looking up.
