JPSS Delivers 'Program Once, Tour Forever' Medialon Control System for Global F1 Exhibition

JPSS has delivered the control system using Medialon by 7thSense that enables the world’s first official Formula 1 Exhibition to tour internationally without requiring specialist support at each new venue.

When Sysco Productions first approached JPSS, the expectation was that engineers would travel with the exhibition for every installation. JPSS proposed a different approach: build the system once, in a way it can be used in any venue around the world.

The exhibition opened in Madrid in 2023, and continues its global tour, with its show control and AV operation handled by local teams. The system manages the audio-visual infrastructure that brings the exhibition to life.

Designing for Independence

“The original brief assumed we'd need to be on-site for every venue change,” said Zach Phillips, Founder of JPSS. “We built a system that adapts to any venue configuration automatically. If a room doesn't fit in the new space, operators disable it in the interface. The system monitoring reconfigures itself.”

This venue-adaptive design reduced what could have been months of recurring work to a single programming period. The Medialon-based system provides full oversight of the exhibition’s technical infrastructure across audio, video, lighting, projection and network systems.

During the Madrid opening, the CEO operated the entire show from an iPad while giving investors a tour. No technical support was required.

The JPSS interface provides clear device-level fault reporting, showing what has failed, where it is located and why. This gives staff the confidence to run and maintain the exhibition without specialist knowledge.

Technical Foundation

The control system is built on the 7thSense Medialon Showmaster platform , managing daily power routines, gallery control, QSYS audio routing, projection systems, displays and lighting triggers. JPSS also engineered the supporting audio architecture and the network configuration, ensuring consistent behaviour and reliability at every venue.

Ed Patchett, Commercial Director at 7thSense, said: “JPSS delivered a reliable Medialon implementation suited to touring environments. It remains consistent from venue to venue with minimal adjustment, which is essential for a show of this scale.”

Alongside Sysco Productions, JPSS completed full onsite commissioning for control, audio, video and network systems, creating a repeatable installation process for all future exhibition locations.

“The best control systems are the ones you hand over and never hear about again,” Zach added. “The F1 Exhibition shows that touring doesn't mean compromising on sophistication or reliability.”
